All that and operating a car is still cheaper than operating a bike (according to a poster on the main site).

Total bill will be around £1250 including the MOT fee and a full service which is probably more than the car is worth but as I was given it 9 years ago and have driven it 150,000 miles (total mileage on the car is 225,000) and this is the first time I've had a big bill I can't complain too much. That would be about 3 months of car finance on something half decent so if it lasts me a few more months I'm no worse off and I'm probably going to go electric in the next year.

Is it it less trivial if it's a watch rather than a tissue?

A watch is less likely to spread white fluff all over the washing. Also I haven't worn a watch for years; not even a pocket watch.
