It would appear, if we are to base “best” healthcare system on lifespan, we should be learning from a number of other countries, including, France and Spain, but, most of all, from Japan.

I had already viewed that, but, since you are kind enough to post it 79.18 (Cuba) vs 79.11 (USA), almost a whole month, what a massive difference.

At 81.77 (UK), the answer to my original question is No; but, there are 28 Countries above us.

It's not even that. It's either having something that requires treatment but where insurance cover will only cover for x period of time, having a medical event which is not covered, or losing your insurance due to say losing your job.

Michael Moore's Sicko is well worth watching if you want to understand how appalling American healthcare is if you aren't wealthy. I recall one of his interviews is with a manual worker who had to choose which of his four fingers he wanted reattached as he could only afford to pay for two of them.
