Wanting change without a plan of what you want, or how to achieve it is meaningless. All too prevalent these days.

I agree but to a large extent it's how Starmer is coming across much of the time. All he keeps repeating is "The electorate voted for change and I'm going to implement that change". Interest rates shooting through the roof is "change", value of £ falling through the floor is "change" just not the "change" most people want.

Starmer keeps talking about "change" but never really saying what change, not even "change for the better" (even without clarifying "for the better").

That's what I meant by "all too prevalent". Pretty much all* politicians, of all parties. Most of the electorate too.
*I'm struggling to think of an exception.

FWIW, he admitted he used Bluesky to try out half-formed ideas, which he can't do in his FT pieces to the same extent, so he's not necessarily trying to be consistent or authoritative on social media, which I find quite refreshing, not least as he does tend not to be pin-downable in a party political way to the same extent as some.

Fuck me, Sam Coates absolutely making himself part of the story by several times calling photos of a happy Starmer "fake news" (accusing Downing Street of having cherry picked and released them) when they had been put out independently by the Press Association. You can see why Starmer would be resistant to listening to his 'journalism'.
