If anyone within Labour had common sense they would have kept the status quo and be using current revelations about the £5 million to absolutely batter Farage and his 'man of the people' b*******.
Good point. Labour will now fill the front pages and focus on investigative reporters and Farāge get little scrutiny.

Ah, OK I get you - you're saying that they're doing alright at the moment but if there's a change Streeting is likely to be the least damaging. Glad to get that sorted out and apologies for the misunderstanding.

I wasn't talking about current performance, you were. Try sticking to the point.

Streeting resigns

It's on

I'm still not convinced he will go for it yet - just read a report on his resignation letter and there appears to be coded reference to wanting Burnham in the contest. Which is a way makes sense, as even if Streeting did win with Burnham unable to run, that wouldn't be the end of it as far as the left of the party is concerned.

Although I could be proved wrong anytime soon...

I may have got this little bit of the rule book wrong but I thought that following the resignation of Streeting, he's no longer eligible to be elected as Prime Minister - because replacements are from amongst ministers. So if Starmer now resigns, Streeting is out of the picture. Not that Starmer is going to resign at this stage - he's lashed himself to the wheel and is navigating the storm with zero visibility.
