I will concede that my time of cycling was outside of rush hour so reasonably pleasant regarding traffic, and some well designed cycle paths.
There were 3 hills either way but none of them went over 6% so that too was relatively pleasant. No narrow hedgerow single lanes either.

There are so many variables to whether a bike commute is worth contemplating. I think e-bikes make it much more attractive for many, but even so, I can still see why a (preferably small electric) car would be the logical choice, even for a keen cyclist, on the many routes which are poorly served by public transport.

Well, I've booked a ticket, whether or not my farming friends are free. The price is crazy: £9.75 return for about four hours on the train there and back, including the stunning bit of Brunel line along the coast from Exminster to Newton Abbot, and then along the tortuous line from Plymouth to Gunnislake going over the Calstock viaduct.

if I live in (say) Berwick-upon-Tweed (England), it is not unreasonable to assume you may travel the few miles into Scotland, for work, or leisure pursuit.

Thought I’d answered. Yes, why not? Just because it’s devolved it shouldn’t be problematic in the grand scheme of things to get an agreement. They already do that with people crossing borders for school or hospital appointments.

Yes, but the subject was bus travel, not schools or hospitals. There is presently no agreement on OAP bus passes.

I suspect she'd have a good case for claiming this is libellous.

Why would doing something as radical as free bus travel for all be constrained by what currently happens though? At the end of the day it's not something that will ever happen but we all have things that we feel would be beneficial to society that will never get introduced. From what I can work out, passengers currently spend around a total of £4 billion a year on bus fares in England (with around £2.6 billion supported by Government) so the numbers are relatively small in terms of government spending.

The CEO of Hope Not Hate makes a fair point about how the Green Party have handled this so far. Though obviously at least he's stood down, unlike the Neo Nazi-befriending Reform candidate. I suspect that the Green Party's decentralised structure isn't really suitable now it's transformed itself into a national party with quite a high profile.

I can't help you if you can't be bothered to look at the answers. I notice that you are studiously avoiding explaining why privatisation of the Water industry was a good thing whilst pretending to be too dim to see the answer (that it isn't, wasn't and won't be).

I asked a question and he didn't supply an answer. I appreciate that you're trying to brass neck this one now as he clearly didn't answer my questions.
