Labour splash the cash on all the wrong policies and foook it up. Never seen such an inept government.

I see no one is defending labour, even the lefties on here. That really tells us all, that we already know.

There is no way back for labour

There was only one person truly backing Labour on here, ever. Why would anyone else suddenly start defending them?

There might have been a few more wanting to back Labour. Our old mate Tool implied Starmer might be waiting to reveal his socialist heart post election. Actually, I seriously doubt Starmer has a heart and those controlling him are far from socialist.

And weirdly failing to go after the other potential large sources of tax revenue like non-doms, multinationals and the oil, water and gas industry who have made huge profits with little taxation - indeed in the case of water, extracting billions from the UK economy and literally giving a crap return to the UK.

In what way have they failed? The tax burden as a % of GDP is at historic highs and some of the taxes applicable to those you mention above have been increased recently.

I really can't understand why troll 1 and troll 2 are so upset with Starmer, given that Starmer's government is doing pretty much everything that the conservatives would have done. It almost feels like Sunak won the election.

I can't understand why you are so fixated with individual posters. Try playing the ball not the man, as the saying goes. And try avoiding the name calling as just makes your 'argument' look even weaker.

CR and others can't stand an opposing point of view.

Their deranged syndrome even goes to the point-

'He, who should not be named'

Imagine a grown man behaving like a toddler to score points on a backwater forum.

I mean, calling people names on a forum became they have the cheek to have a different point point of view - bloody leftie trolls ^_^

They have failed because they are a party that is supposed to represent the poorest in society, the workers etc, and they are going after *those* people rather than the super rich. The point of being a party that has been the opposition to the Conservative party is that you are supposed to oppose their views. Not just carry on with the same old crap.

It may be more a realisation (even by Labour) that you cannot simply keep jacking up tax rates - that would ignore both the impact on growth and on the inevitable taxpayer reaction to tax increases.

Re: Tariffs
Weird/daft thing as I see it is Starmer spending all his time clutching his ankles for Trumpton frantically trying to negotiate a Free Trade Deal whilst doinf virtually nothing with our largest trading partner who would love a closer deal with the UK and despite after his election he was continually talking about his seeking a "Reset with the EU relationship".

Canada has a Free Trade Deal with the US yet they were one of the first to get. impacted by US tariffs so why are we (UK) so despersate for the same arrangement? Why isn't Starmer spending his efforts on better trade with our closest largest trasding partner?

Why do they need a way back? They are the winners for the moment. Have you had a bump to the noggin?

Their win was almost nobody voted for Tories. It is a victory, but labour turned it into a loss almost immediately. They have lost the country. They will be likely wiped out next election.

Who is in power , that's still up in the air and there is a long way to go, for labour it's lost

Two things Starmer should be keeping front and foremost.
1. Trump has repeatedly said "America first!" The subtext is F-the rest as there are only winners and losers in his world.
2. A trade deal with Trump is as meaningless as a peace deal with Putin. Worthless.
