This is what the media and other politicians are saying about Starmers announcement today
No, that's what a slightly nutty journalist and a reactionary stockbroker turned Politician are saying today. This is what the media are saying:

The Guardian: PM unveils policies to ‘significantly’ drive down net migration including English tests and degree requirements
The Times: UK risks becoming ‘island of strangers’ without migration cuts, Starmer warns The prime minister has announced sweeping immigration reforms including tighter visa rules and promised to ‘take back control of our borders’
The Sun: TAKE BACK CONTROL' Keir’s migration rules in full from crackdown on deportation dodgers to tough English tests – but will they REALLY work?
Sky News: Politics latest: MPs condemn Starmer's migration speech Keir Starmer has announced an overhaul of the legal immigration system, including tightening overseas carer recruitment and English language tests. Yvette Cooper is answering MPs' questions about the proposals, which have not been without criticism. Watch and follow live.
BBC News: PM promises migration drop as he unveils plans for 'tightened' visa rules. Sir Keir Starmer has promised the government's new immigration measures will mean net migration falls "significantly" over the next four years.
GB News: Wibble...
CNN: Britain sets out plan to toughen rules on migration, as Starmer combats surge in support for populists
Daily Express: The 10 times Keir Starmer and his Cabinet opposed migration control

Oh - and the answer to Farage's question is "Fark off you racist xenophobic count".

The Assisted Dying Bill - which was popular on here as I recall - is going to help sort out the care crisis.

The terminology may be wanting, but isn't this a logical conclusion? If money isn't being spent on people who have elected to die, there is money which can be used for other parts of the NHS.
Personally I should be surprised if the sum involved was substantial in comparison to the NHS budget, but if it makes a difference to the living, I am sure many of those electing for assisted dying wouldn't object.

I would be surprised if the savings would exceed the costs of the legal process.

I think you overestimate Farage and Julia Hartley Brewer.

Starmer has had his house attacked with a fire bomb.

Police reports, that everyone is a suspect, British right, left and immigrants, now he's declared war on them too

'I don't want to be a burden...'
That's just putting pressure on those who are ill to end their lives early for the common good, even if they don't really want to. I think that's exactly what this bill will lead to and I think it's a terrible thing.

I don't want to be a burden. My wife and children are well aware of my views. I am grateful there may soon be legal cover for my family/me taking action to follow my wishes should I find myself in that particular cul de sac.
