Has the man no integrity what so ever? This, Sir Keir, is un-British.

Sir Keir said that while some have protested against the Israeli government's actions in Gaza, "others have used this as a despicable excuse to attack British Jews for something over which they have absolutely no responsibility".

"Let me just spell that out for a moment: people on our streets calling for the murder of Jewish people they have never even met, for something they are not responsible for," he said.

The rhetoric is deeply unhelpful.

It was more helpful to point out that it is distasteful to protest today of all days.

It's no different from celebrating someone's death at their funeral. I mean, you can, but it's socially unacceptable.

I can’t see much wrong with what you have quoted or am I missing something.

BTW I don’t like the term “un-British” as it is very politicised would rather he just say ‘disrespectful’. Respect isn’t uniquely British.

From my observations, the ones conflating criticism of Israel and antisemitism seem mostly to be supporters of Israel.

Well maybe you're the sort of person he's aiming this sort of rhetoric at.

"Let me just spell that out for a moment: people on our streets calling for the murder of Jewish people they have never even met, for something they are not responsible for,"

Protest against genocide in Gaza = a call to murder Jews. O.k. that's not exactly what he said, but it's the implication he intends.

No he drew a distinction between the protesters and the ‘others’ using it as an excuse. It seemed quite clear to me.

If that was his intention then his intention is bollocks.

That's a bit selective, your previous post included another line that puts the comment into context. while some have protested against the Israeli government's actions in Gaza, "others have used this as a despicable excuse to attack British Jews for something over which they have absolutely no responsibility". It's specifically talking about those that are not using it as peaceful process.

The number of those others is insignificant compared to the protesters, so the only reason to mention it has to be to conflate the two, which is the usual israeli ploy.
