No longer relevant as Labour Party seem to be running away from any "Affordable Housing". They just listen to the lobbyists representing the developers and makes complete sense (in Labour's new ideology).
Yeah I forget they've replaced it by an unachievably large amount of new housing.

All the more profitable 3+ bedroom premium property. Even existing developments with affordable housing numbers already agreed, developers go to planning "but we are not going to make as much profit with those affordable houses" and planning rolls over and allows much of the affordable housing to be sold at full market value. Happened not that long ago in my area and I attended the Planning Committee and spoke against the developer's application but it was a rubber stamp exercise.

The attempt to widen the inquiry to cover offences other than organised street grooming is an attempt to dilute its focus to avoid uncomfortable truths. Many Labour councils were complicit and by widening the scope less time will be spent on talking about who was responsible.

Pretty much every public enquiry ever gets criticized at some stage for what wasn't looked into. No matter how an enquiry is framed, someone will be unhappy.

This is being going on for decades. There are many in authority who were directly involved or complicit in these Pakistani rape gangs. The enquiry should focus primarily on this and all those involved

That's pretty much my opinion.
Taken further, they are just an exercise in being seen to be doing something while achieving nothing, and a vast waste of public money.

Not all...

There was one into a rail tragedy in the Lake District, probably 30 years ago now, and the authorities (unusually) adopted *all* of its recommendations (the failings had been in prioritising profit over safety, in essence). The result: there were no passenger deaths on the railways for many many years afterwards. (All IIRC.)
