As I've mentioned before, I was blown away by the stat cited in the BBC programme 'Beyond The Clouds' that China has one million villages, and despite that manages to have communist party oversight even of all the villages to some extent (e.g. the one-child-per-family law that's since been abolished).

Incidentally, I'd love to get a DVD of that series, as it was incredibly beautiful, as well as being really interesting. But I've never seen it for sale anywhere, which is a pity.

Impressive, I agree, but, desirable?

It’s available on YouTube if you search for China Beyond The Clouds

Interesting podcast episode today, The News Agents "Is British politics just ungovernable?" interviewing David Runciman (professor, an author) (listen online without subscribing https://www.globalplayer.com/podcasts/episodes/7DrwRy3/).

Section I found interesting (in the first half) was his analysis as to where and how Starmer has made himself such a disaster. Not discussing U-turns or anything, "higher level" and distinguishing between "Power" and "Authority".

At least he's admitted "Labour versus Reform".

What a choice, though, eh?

Well it's not really an admission is it - it might not even be accurate? Some pollsters are showing that it's Green Vs Reform

"Some pollsters" included one with a respondent count of *51*, so I'm taking all polls with a quarry-load of salt at the moment.
