Oh do fark off Spen.

My post was based on an error of misreading of the tracker which I pointed out myself. Digital ID remains a policy that Labour introduced post election and failed to implement.

I was good enough to provide references to the tracker.

Some form of National ID has been Labour policy for about 20 years. It's hardly a surprise. It was a Blair initiative after 9/11.

Yes it was eventually rejected because it was expensive, intrusive and threatened civil liberties. No wonder Starmer didn't put it in his manifesto.

At least Liz Truss has some good news for Labour.

To be fair though (and it really does hurt me to do so) she's probably not too far off the mark.

But I still do not understand why they don't see it? Is it simply that they are so entrenched in the "McSweeney won us an election" fallacy that they are prepared to believe that any path he took was sure to be a success, regardless of all available evidence?

Further evidence (if any is needed) of how out of touch they are with the electorate.
