But we keep getting told that Labour are not losing many voters to reform, but are losing far more to the Greens and Lib Dems. Your explanation would worsen her position in her constituency if this is true
Also, even if your reason is true, it doesn't read well to hear a Labour MP calling out a Labour PM
I have said before, several times, in this area, there were very few voters who were NOT Labour.
Conservative voters were almost unheard of, even Lib Dems and Greens were almost unheard of. In the past two years, Reform mainly, but Greens also, have surged. The "defectors" must be disgruntled Labour Voters, since any other type of voter was on the endangered species list!
Social media is full of hysterical outbursts from, Labour supporters, criticising Reform, they are actually giving them free exposure, but, they seem unable to see it.
In Ms Buck's Constituency (which is definitely one of the "left behind"), there is a particular issue at the moment with the proliferation of HMOs. This is not particularly an MP issue, being mainly under the control of the Local Authority (Labour for the past 100 year approximately, and, for most of that time 100% Labour, but, currently near a tipping point). But, in people's minds Labour has let them down, yet again, the fine distinction between National and Local issues is lost in the red mist.
Certainly, if I were Ms Buck, I would be revisiting my CV pronto.
Ms Buck is not my Constituency MP by the way, although, I was born in South Shields, and lived there for my first 20 years, and, after living and working in many places, I now life approximately 4 miles from South Shields (although I avoid actually going there).
