fair point, but I don't think it matters where you live. If you ask someone for help and they punch you in the face, then they offer help again - are you really going to trust them not to punch you in the face again?

You seem to have forgotten that Labour (their former Political Party of choice) did not exactly campaign for "Remain". They may be wrong, but, what they believe is that Labour sold them out, and, the Conservatives never cared about them in the first place.

I am not campaigning FOR Nigel here, I am saying, unless we understand why people believe this charlatan, then, he will continue to be believed.

Very true.

However, is the real concern not:

"how can a few families come to an unfamiliar country, find a job, find somewhere to live, and, do "better" than the indigenous population?"

There are 40 years of neglect and no simple answers here, there is lots to address here, and, IMHO, Reform is not the answer, but, Labour, Conservative, Lib-Dem, etc, have not been the answer either.

I could be wrong, but, I doubt telling people they are ignorant and racist will fix it either, no matter how loud it is shouted.

You'd have to ask the indigenous population that one.
Why didn't they fill the jobs before the immigrants came along?

This is the problem with Westminster though, stuff like ā€˜Levelling Up’ sounds great in London, doing something for the people who live up there somewhere.

You would think in such small country everything should feel local, but we do entertain ā€˜out of sight, out of mind too readily’.

I don’t know the answer, but I believe that England would benefit from some form of devolution. Its not the perfect solution but was pretty effective before brexit fvcked everything up.

I think that I understand it, although my thinking is probably too simple.
The conman is offering unicorns. People want unicorns. They don't realise that he is a conman who will not supply unicorns.

It has been suggested that whilst the Palace of Westminster is being repaired, Parliament could go on tour. Maybe moving to some different places might educate some of the MPs...

Thought it was 72 virgins

Is Austerity hitting religion now?

I think supply and demand may have caused a dramatic increase in the cost of virgins, thus leading to supply problems.

There does, however, appear to have been a dramatic increase in the number of immaculate conceptions.

Ok, that’s fine, we can’t fix it, let’s all just sit and whinge.

That's fine, but they shouldn't complain about that conscious choice.
Look on the bright side, I bet the housing is affordable. šŸ˜‰

I understand now, I thought the perceived wisdom was that poverty, deprivation, unemployment was all the fault of the Musks, Bezos, etc of this world, all those wicked rich people. But, clearly not, it is people’s own fault and they should accept their place, without complaint.

You should buy some, you could be an absentee landlord 😊

I don't think it's as binary as that...
