What are you wittering about? Starmer? He was elected. Labour leaders are appointed via a vote by their membership. Doesn't matter how much funding a candidate has, it's always an vote that decides. Same with the Conservatives. The funding is for the leadership campaign to get selected.

If you dont get "selected" to be in the ballot, you presumably cannot be elected?, so, funding may be relevant,
I would have thought Funding is highly relevant in USA Presidential Elections, for example, ie the funding may not guarantee election, but, there is a strong correlation.
