Life imitates satire:-

It was accurate back when LoB was made, so it's almost worth posting more than once now... 😜

Why stop at 14? Get 'em young, Zarah... 5-year-old socialists shouldn't be excluded.

This highlights the major problem with the more socialist end of the left. Everyone is obsessed with proving their own particular ideological thread more worthy than their colleagues. They want power within their own small faction rather than to actually lead and govern a country.

Ha, what a mess it all is.

Unfortunately, we know who is responsible for this. And that's Corbyn. He's responsible for the people he's promoted to the heart of the new party, he's responsible for bringing the IA MPs into the fold while overlooking questionable and anti-working class aspects of their politics, and he's responsible for dragging his feet - even having to be bounced into starting a mailing list. The only thing preventing this from being a complete write off is that despite the shenanigans and stupidities, upwards of 50,000 people have joined - in the face of the serious alternative presented by the Greens. By all accounts, where regional assemblies are taking place members are showing up. And across the country, unofficial branches have convened. A dynamic independent of the centre's gatekeeping and the dithering is underway, and is refusing to be snuffed out by the idiocies leading figures keep inflicting on the project. Yes, it's hard to believe right now but this resilience shows Your Party, or whatever it will end up getting called, can come out the other side of these squabbles. It could overcome its over-dependence on Corbyn. It may yet realise its potential and have a great future ahead.

I think it has been pretty clear for a while that Corbyn is the central problem. He makes Starmer look magnanimous!
I've always thought Corbyn is not a leader, useless as one. But he is a good thinker and could do a far better job "back office" driving ideas. Trouble is, as with so many politicians these days, they want to be seen as being "in charge", to be making public appearances talking about "my Party" (like ownership) rather than what it really should be (a group of like minded people arguing for the same'ish outcome.)

Through my time managing others I've always taken the approach that a good manager's job is to get the best out of the team they manage, to create an environment where they can be most productive and achieve. It is NOT the job of a good manager to have a team to do their bidding. No way is Labour Starmer's personal property ("My Party") and no way is the Conservative Party owned by Ms Badenoch. They are just leading the organisations in the short term.

I still think there’s something disturbing about Corbyn probably going back to that GE campaign where he was surrounded by teenage ‘minders’.

It was a bit strange with the chanting and everything. Some of his rallies were treated like the sermon on the mount by the faithful who flocked to them.

I always thought he was just a naughty boy.

A good mate of mine is in quite a senior job within Islington and knows Corbyn professionally. Apparently he is a very good local MP and well respected amongst community groups but there is a bit of the Messiah complex about him when he is in charge of something. I think that kind of explains the youth support thing, he kind of loved the adoration for the ego boost (this is my opinion, not my mate's!).
