My mum is why I love words.

My Mum had a great influence on my life. One Christmas, when I was around 9
She bought me a plastic Eddie Calvert Trumpet, only to break it on my head when I was annoying her by playing it all the time following her around.
Without her I could have been just like you.

My mum hoped I'd play the violin, like her father (he died when I was only six weeks old), as she still had his two violins. Instead of which she had to sell both violins (they weren't Stradivariuses) to buy my first real trumpet. (I'd also had a plastic one, not broken over my head, even if I was very annoying with it.)
