It might be a fitting end to Johnson that he isn't brought down by his numerous dodgy dealings, but by his MPs rebelling when he tries to make their lucrative side-hustles against the rules. It is also a fitting tribute to the current Tory party.

But im not interested in they did it so we can too.Whats going on right in front of us is what matters ?

Yes, I would agree.

Perhaps, I just like to be even handed in my distrust of Politicians. ;)

Well, as I have said many times, I didn't vote for them.

We have been here before, with "the other lot", for example https://www.theguardian.com/world/2000/oct/17/qanda.mandelson

No one is defending Mandelson, who was always obsessed by money and influence and not fussy how he got them, or that other governments have not been perfect, but that was 21 years ago, and he resigned over it, and meanwhile this current Tory government, who have been in power for 11 years, are making a habit of being involved in all sorts of sleaze.

Perhaps start a thread talking about the problems with of previous governments, if you think that is more relevant or important than discussing the errors of this one.

Other than Brexit, which you have also told us you didn't vote for, what were the reasons that led you not to vote for the Tories, and how do you think they are doing on sleaze and other issues?

Since you ask:

1. I didn't say anyone was defending Mandelson, or, any other Politician, I was simply pointing out that sleaze was neither new, nor, confined to one Political Party.

2. I didn't say that the sleaze of previous Governments was more relevant or important than the sleaze of this one, my point, perhaps inexpertly made, was that there is not much point is swapping one flavour of sleaze for another one.

3. I have answered this one before. To me, Brexit was the most important issue. As a Remainer, there was only one candidate in. my Constituency whose party line was "stay in". I voted for them. A waste of time, since (again, as I have mentioned before) my Constituency is a very safe Labour stronghold. But, my view is, if you cannot be bothered to vote (even ineffectively), then you forfeit the right to moan about the outcome.

As to how they are doing, I cannot think of one issue where I would applaud them. But, that does not mean that I agree with or wish to call every Conservative MP, or Conservative Voter, offensive names, or, brand them as Racists etc etc
