They appear to have found something whilst checking his computer.
“The force said the charge related to a video file recovered by officers in February.
The force added the charge of making an indecent photograph related to acts such as downloading, sharing and saving material.”
You wonder how many people would fall foul of this if their laptop was inspected. I bet it would be a sizeable number.

"The act must also be done with the knowledge and intent that the image is indecent or likely to be so, though this is interpreted broadly to include unintentional downloads if done with awareness of the potential content."
My reading of this is that the act of accidentally downloading something "indecent" whilst looking for images of whatever floats your boat will be more likely to be with "knowledge and intent" if your kink is school uniforms than SS uniforms, for example.
That aside, I'm not sure why the world knows what's allegedly been found on his laptop.

I used to do some work with Charlton Athletic and knew him well enough to say hello to as he was just emerging as a first team player. Slightly disappointed to have read this as it is clear what the subtext is and where his views may now lie.
