That will be most likely due to new model Y being announced. Pre orders stand around 200k in China so it would be obvious

BYD, who are way better than Tesla, sold 322,846, uo 7.4% in Feb

The sales of BEV is around 125k units in February 2025 compared 55k units previous February.

Still very impressive figures. BYD have become the world's largest EV maker including PHEV. Tesla overall vehicle share has been under pressure from BYD and the likes of Xpeng. They make excellent cars. Ultimately Chinese manufacturers will rule the world in vehicles.

I wouldn't be so excitable. Tesla sales last month DOWN 51.5% in China, just 30,688 units sold.
I think you have to be *very* careful using China and sales figures. Remember that the glorious leader will smile on the citizen who purchases a Chinese EV rather than one that is American.

It's also a bit too soon to be able to measure the impact of Herr Musk on sales. Most Jan and Feb sales will be pre-orders, possibly the same for March April. I think the cliff fall will be seen in about 6 months. It may be seen sooner in second hand prices as they depend on people wanting a Tesla now...

The Model 3 (3 to 4 years) was down 5.4% to £20,859 while the Model Y (2-3 years) dipped 4.9% to £29,639.
Meanwhile, older versions of the Model 3 (4 to 5 years) were the fifth biggest faller, down 4.2% to £19,009.

Clearly the investors aren't as upbeat about Tesla than some are. Tesla shares are down 26% since last month and are yet to recover.

Does anyone know what would happen to Musk's business empire if something deeply unfortunate befell him? (jumped in front of a stray bullet, ketamine overdose, vehicular spontatneous combustion ... sorry, I'll stop there, don't know what came over me .,..)

Do the succesors share his particular ... ethics?

He only owns 15% of Tesla. It would probably be controlled by some trust or lawyers until his kids were old enough , then it would be split umpteen ways. Each would be billionaires

Don't know what arrangements he has, do you?

You'd rather hope that what's in his genes stays in his jeans.
