Putin calls the conflict WW4. The 3rd being the cold war.
What point are you trying to make? There are bombs flying around and it's global by proxy and there are people dying. What defines war if you are suggesting that this is just a localised conflict?

You've jumped in on other threads on a whim and post out of context, get your fingers burnt as you spout bollox and then you go away again.

Trivialising a War that still has not happened?

i didn't realise that what Putin says is what you go by.

They must be missing this part of England. I've not seen any bombs here, nor any bomb damage, nor even any air raid warnings

If I'm wrong, please advise me when there was a declaration of war by the UK Government

Alternatively, you could just enjoy your life and not worry about something that over 4 years on has not happened and is very unlikely to happen.

It doesn't affect me so it doesn't matter.

That's it. This is the bloke on BR who hid behind govt. walls. He couldn't say x or y because it would conflict with his remit and confidentiality agreements.
I wouldn't hire him to defend against an unauthorised parking ticket.

I would, purely for the comedy value.

My favourites of his feifned ignorance have involved numbers, specifically those of "97" and "666".

Back on the Ukraine invasion. How do we think this actually ends? It seems that the reality is that Ukraine (quite correctly IMO) have no appetite to agree any kind of solution that cedes any kind of territory or sovereignty and Russia clearly have no actual interest in any kind of agreement full stop. If this is the case, are we just looking at a grinding indefinite conflict with no end in sight?

Sadly, yes, it would appear.

Unless, as in Pinno's world, Russia implodes economically and Putin's head ends up on a spike outside the Kremlin.
It would then take his successor to be a moderate, rather than one who makes Putin look moderate....

No. Financial pressure will determine it's length.
As I have posted above, Russia's ground tactics have hardly yielded anything bar fatalities and some 'empty fields'.

Is there a paradox there though that ending the war is actually worse for them economically as their economy is essentially being propped up now by defence spending?

If they were to suddenly end the war tomorrow wouldn't there be a massive black hole that couldn't be filled by any other means?

Precisely. It's proving to be a an insidious, diminishing financial loop.
It is laden with some sort of tragic irony - Russia can't afford to stop the war.
Unfortunately, you're not the first one to suggest it.

Good, because I don't deal with such work, so would not breach my professional regulations by taking on work outside my area of practice
