Borscht ?

Borscht
Soup

Borscht is a sour soup popular in Eastern Europe, most famously known for its vibrant red color from beets, though variations exist. It's made with a meat or vegetable stock and includes ingredients like cabbage, carrots, potatoes, and onions, with a signature tangy flavor from vinegar, lemon juice, or tomatoes, often served with a dollop of sour cream and fresh dill.

Meat and potato stews is common in Russia, Hungary, Eastern Europe etc.

Thank you for that. I just know what we were told was actually available, as opposed to what was on the menu. 😂

Putin's three day special military operation has now lasted as long as the Great Patriotic War of 1941 - 1945.

It's with some irony that all the great conquerors who tried and failed succumbed to geography (and winter). Russia's current failing is it's sheer size. It's now proving impossible to defend and manage.

Did a homestay once with a retired Russian cosmonaut. Borscht for tea every night. Pretty thin too.
He had an apartment with a balcony overlooking the river and Gorky Park. Even though it was the era of the winds of change, I didn't chance my luck on it.

If that was a retired Astronaut, I think your meals would have been different.

1418 days of this SOM (special military operation. Except there hasn't been much special).
This is the same duration that Russia was directly involved in WW2.
...and how much land has Pootin captured?

$1tr wasted.
1.2m casualties.

I like to lurk around these parts. I don't like being told that I'm wrong by people I don't know and who seem to have more time and appetite for 'research' than I do; it's an interesting collation of partisan viewpoints.
I may backtrack on my previously expressed views on blocking though.
Alexei Kostarev was my man in Moscow. Held some records for altitude flying in the early days. Had an apartment by the river and a dacha nearby Khrushchev's daughter's place. His nice properties (which may not actually have been his to keep) contrasted with his knackered Volga and poor diet. Suspect inflation (or his aged trophy wife who never spoke to us) over the years had made him cash poor. Lovely chap.

Anyway. What is becoming more and more apparent is that there are actors in the CIA still working on behalf of Ukraine and NATO. The CIA has helped to locate military targets, is complicit in oil tanker sequestration (now 5).
I think that means Hegseth and the Trump administration is being over-ruled in favour of stability and common sense and that probably, the administration is so in over their heads, they haven't got a clue.
I am wondering if there is sufficient clout in the US hierarchy that a move on Greenland would be vetoed. We are already aware of military generals steering Trump away from these maniacal ideas. I am wondering if the US military would go so far as to go completely against any orders to 'invade' Greenland.

Did you meet him in a café?
What an interesting encounter.

Brave 'Russian' soldier with a land mine strapped to him. Suicide bomber: If you continue watching the clip I posted above, you'll see the video of this man with the land mine strapped to him and being treated royally by his commander.
