War with Russia

Mad Doug Biker

Just plodding along as always.
An - 225, even.

Reportedly also in these latest attacks, TU - 22s' and '160s' were also damaged or destroyed.

All veritable museum
pieces that are (or were) still flying.

This is war though and I guess they are finally realising their intended destiny.

Problem now is that Russia is getting worried about whether it has enough aircraft able to be operatonal to deliver nuclear weapons if they need to

They have lost so many that it is a critical blow to their whole strategic force - not just to the forces attacking Ukraine

They will have to retaliate - it is what they do to show strength
but after that - who knows

they do not - apparently - have the ability to rebuild them at the moment

so - logically - they should do whateevr is needed to be able to stop fighting and pull back for a few years to rebuild

but this may not be possible for Putin due to internal politics (and probably high windows!)

It feels a bit silly to let Russia know how they carried out a successful attack. I'm sure they'd have worked it out but why not at least make them wonder for a while?
I don't know how much information from outside Russia gets into Russia but making it so public, making Russia look vulnerable and then for everywhere outside Russia to be talking about it, word probably will spread around Russia and impact public sentiment about the war and Putin.

Destroying the aircraft an achievement by Ukraine but the PR impact around the world and within Russia might be even more valuable?

nb as without the PR at best Russia authorities might quietly admit a refuelling error caused minor damage and the ground crew making the error have been punished.

Finding out where his brain has gone missing? (Memories of Spitting Image & Reagan.)

It is a hard deadline to pick up the phone to Vladimir, because they've always got on well, be assured they are reasonable people willing to end the war if Ukraine becomes a part of Russia and blame Ukraine for being the problem for not accepting this peace deal back in 2022.

It would not surprise me in the slightest for that to be the Rump's starting position.

I wonder if he would be so amenable to Alaska becoming a Canadian Province? I mean, it seems ridiculous stuck way up there on it's own. 👹

I think they already knew. Russia had the lorry drivers remember and not all the attacks were successful, so they would have known small drones were used. They won't be able to use that tactic again, so they revealed it, plus it's a PR coup over Putin who now knows that huge damage was done to his air force using simple drones.

It makes Putin look weak - the vultures may already be circling him, and this might help. If Putin goes, then a new leader might respond to a face saving operation.

This is rubbing salt in the wounds, and pre-empitively declining's Russia's change to spread lies, like for example by the part if Zelensky's statement that said all their agents where saferly back in Ukraine.(as often often Arrests random people and claim them as perpetrators behind X or Y)
And if we look at the past years in particular Ukraine has grown increasingly balsyer implying that they either known how to cross the border safely or they have a collection of border points they can safely pass for the right bribe.
But from their point of view, they now showed Russia that even on the outcorners of Russia their planes or whatever hardware for that matter isn't safe. And those planes their damaged or destroyed can't be brought back into service. And Russia is quite powerless to do something about this as they simply don't have the manpower
