Iranians are protesting en masse and it's bedlam. 5 protester deaths and the people are calling for the Royal family to return - who are living in exile in the US.
Meanwhile Putin has sent 7 large military aircrafts in to support the regime. Carrying men and munitions.
Now he's fighting a war on multiple fronts.
It will be interesting to see how this pans out. I don't think it will be cheap however Putin plays it but the threat of a major ally and consumer going the wrong way must be weighing on him.

Not really, only the exiles that haven't been to Iran since the revolution. Pahlavi has no internal support in Iran, proposing he takes over is of the same level of delusion as when Chalabbi was touted as a replacement for Sadam in Iraq.

I talk with Iranian friends about this often. My take from living there in the couple of years leading up to the revolution is that the royals were so bad they resulted in that revolution!

I have many Iranian friends, both inside and outside Iran. The kind of people that want Pahlavi back are also maga supporters, that should give you an idea.

It annoys the mullahs and pleases Netanyahu. Trump, Pahlavi or those calling for Pahlavi's return don't give a flying fück about the Iranian people actually taking the risk in the streets.

It’s about geopolitical factors & security aspects.

Russia will never "give up" until they achieve their goals regarding the ethnic Russian population in Ukraine

There is no "just peace" that can be achieved

Without realistic peace negotiations, the war will continue until one side is forced to surrender

And there will be no Russia without Ukraine.
Should the EU start listening to Trump?
