Sad I know and such is this damn war but Russia was chucking some 600+ drones and missiles towards Ukraine, many at Kyiv, on a daily basis for a long while through winter.

Yeah, I thought the lower number in itself is significant, given how the are on the back foot and haven't got enough men to throw in the grinder.

• Fuel across Russia on this black market is fetching 500 roubles per litre. Crimean fuel on the BM is up to 1000 per litre (£4.84pl / £9.68pl respectively)

• Crimea is defenceless as substations have been struck by drones causing power loss in 4 occupied regions

• 800 trucks along the main supply route, the M128 to Crimea struck in just 2 days
• Strabyanski oil refinery still on fire 3 days after strike
• Fleets aircraft groundings become widespread as sanctions affect parts supply lines. 1/5th have been taken out of circulation

Yes, loosing Crimea is hugely symbolic as mentioned up thread.

That's a crock of sentimental, almost romantic sh*t. Putin posed an existential threat to Ukraine. Putin waged war on ego and brutal expansionism. One side has a genuine cause, the other: a pay cheque. The latter, including mercenaries, have been instrumental historically.

Alternative tactics against a far superior opposition with more might, and more money.

I would say both are bad comparisons, as Ukraine not only manages so far to defeat Russia but also doing so preventing as much as possible civilian targets. Both Taliban and Viet-con had no such restraints
