CIA have been to Moscow today. Wonder what that is about, maybe a prisoner swap arrangement?

The latter is real "That's a real nice country you got there... it'd be a pity if anything happened to it" threat. The FB video on the Trump thread saying how the US has been lying to itself that these overseas bases aren't of direct benefit to the US is very persuasive: it gives them the excuse to say they can't afford a decent healthcare system because of all these foreigners who demand protection, whereas the bases are of direct benefit to the US.

The difficulty now is that Trump loves his dick taters in Russia, China and North Korea, so he wants to cosy up to them. It's not going to end well, any more than Merkel cosying up to Putin and the West winding down defence capabilities did.

That's delicious!

"It's not MY fault the neighbour I invaded is a bit pi55ed at us, Yuri!"

Re UK handing over Storm Shadow blueprints to Ukraine...

I guess that the theory is that Ukraine can scale up much more quickly than the UK, and that this winter and after are crucial, given it's pretty clear that Trump is deliberately making it harder for Ukraine to defend itself. It could be getting existential with the daily pounding Russia is subjecting Ukraine to. Worth noting from the article that it's UK components in French missiles, and that France must be party to the decision (if I'm reading the article correctly).
There are a few angles to look at it, yes one of them is Ukraine needs drones now and has the ability and need to scale up production faster then we in the Uk can. But also i remember not so long ago something about the challenger 3 being over budget and potentially cancelled so production in a other country solves the budget problem.
But more importantly what we learned so far is that the drones Ukraine got the blueprint for are most likely equipped with "stormfire" a very new technology that doesn't hide away from radars but confuses them. (hence the the most likely reason one of those warehouses was hit by an air defence Russian rocket that was intended for an drone.) so i guess battlefield experience is worth so much more then the honor to produce it.

Why can’t we just be allies with Russia once again? Stop profitable war for the elites.
Just a reminder that was pretty much the response in 2014 the west said they didn't approve of Putins actions and that's about it, after Putin had other "special military operations in Georgia, and many other small acts of war against its' neighbors. this has let other neighboring countries like Poland to ramp up their military spending and equipment for years.

So if you give in to Putin now, what will be his next target?
