Hmmm... It definitely shows the Argentinian team with their backs to the Spanish team but they are standing on the next side of the square.
The question is - did they turn their backs, or were they told to stand there? Some of them do turn their heads to watch, but it has the air of being told they should stand there facing that direction rather than a deliberate choice.

All I'll say is that forums like this are always full of middle aged (or older) men who are usually slightly pompous know - it - alls.

I'm not, naturally, but I still come here just to read the political threads, hoping that I might glean things for the quizzes on the main site and so on.

You'll notice also that I tend not to really interact with many threads, despite what I read.

I did read somewhere that the Argentinians were facing an area of the ground where a large number of their fans were standing. Quite possibly team orders.
