Like all vehicles Tesla have mechanical door latches inside. Like all vehicles the side glass is tempered and will shatter instantly upon a sharp impact.

You do know model 3 and Y have normal handles. Model S and X are the ones with retractable handles.

So it's not impossible to gain quick access.

Also probably you dont know EVs have far lower incidents of fires than internal combustion engine vehicles.

None of what you have said undoes the fundamental point that was made. I suggest you read what I said again.

I agree. They are likely to go bust.
I suspect their future depends on when or if the investors realise the full impact of Musk's damage to their investment.

The future of Tesla will be decided by the Chinese. If China can overcome the tariffs and continue to take a larger share of the US and European ev market Tesla will increasingly lose out. Unlike other car makers they aren't diverse, they have no non electric models or other manufacturing to fall back on or to supplement ev sales.

This is just how innovative products work. Innovators start well then others catch up. Ford dominated US car manufacturing for the first half of the 20th century until other brands entered the marketplace.

But are already losing out due to Herr Musk. The European market has tanked - people don't wish to be associated with him.

People won't care if the price is right. Unfortunately for Tesla the price will never be right because US and Europe made cars can't compete with Chinese wage rates. Increasingly people are not going to pay the innovation premium once the innovation is mainstream and cheaper from other suppliers. I expect BYD to overtake Tesla in new car sales in the next couple of years.

I'm surprised that, given his spat with Musk, Trump hasn't announced the removal of tariffs from Chinese electric car brands. The problem Musk has is that in addition to people being put off by him the Chinese cars are at as good as Tesla in terms of technology and build quality (probably significantly better on the latter) whilst also being cheaper. The only think Tesla has left to elevate it above any other EV brand is its history (which isn't really worth much) and its charging network. I'm considering going electric in the next year or so and Tesla definitely won't be on my list (BYD / Jaecoo etc. very well maybe).

But that might be interpreted as moving towards acknowledging that we might need to make small gestures towards addressing the fraud that all these professional scientists across the world are conspiring to use to restrict American business profits ...

Or somebody somewhere might suggest a wind farm could provide the fuel for such a vehicle ...

They definitely will.

A new Tesla Y in the UK costs £44,990 minimum (rising to £61,990).

You can get a second hand Tesla (2022 / 2023 model) with less than 20,000k miles on the clock for around £25k.

In July 2024 2462 new Tesla Y were sold in the UK. In July 2025 just 987.

Tesla Sales are down 62% in germany, 55% in Sweden and Denmark, 49% and 41% in Netherlands and France.

Like all luxury marques people will pay a premium to get something they perceive as special or which offers something exceptional. For Tesla that was innovation, exclusivity, and later long charges. I don't think they compete on luxury and build quality. I think the 2 main factors now are price and battery range and as batteries improve Tesla won't have the edge on others re range for long.

Used ev's are looking good value. I like ours but the depreciation is heavy. You can get a 4/5 year old electric Golf for £10k.
