Noted by @TailWindHome elsewhere. He might also blame himself for trusting Copilot and not checking.

I see this as as highlighting a major risk to our society from AI. Assuming the Police Chief isn't a complete fool, when police start suffering untruths from hallucinations it shows how easily humans are misled by technology.

In this case a few football supporters had to watch a football match on TV but consider eg when democratic elections are being held and the influence these AIs can have. Add when they are controlled by unaccountable individuals with a strong vested interest and more extreme political views. If a Police Chief can be so easily misled when scrutinising evidence what of the electorate when they don't have the time to properly consider what they are being fed.

I think we passed the point of "can have" some time ago.

“i really don't get with those who believe the north is treated as second class by a southern-focussed government. the new northern powerhouse rail plans announced yesterday are damn exciting as can be seen in this map shared by west yorkshire mayor, tracy brabin (seriously, google it).

don't take too much notice of what's happening the other side of the pennines. they can keep their new 'manchester airpont', and their three warringtons joined by three and a half railway lines.

no, what excites me is we're getting another hull. i like hull, so what could be better than a second one just above york. for starters, it'll save us in scarborough from having to go to york. although to counter that, there'll be a new york (so good they built it twice) just above the new hull.

meanwhile the original and best hull is being moved inland to make it a little closer to everything.

other treats include not having to go through either of the yorks to catch a train to newcastle. and the convenience of manchester piccadilly now being just south of sheffield. of course, some will be disppointed that the leeds to bradford line doesn't go through bradford, instead giving you opportunity to go to huddersfield twice. but you can't have everything.

what you can have is graphic designers actually draw your maps instead of using AI, but we don't want that sort of nonsense now, do we? not when we could have three warringtons.”
