I sort of wonder if we should be running a sweepstake about how long she'll remain Party Leader.

She just sort of has nothing, no policies or rather only "policy" seems to be not to have any policies. Or maybe it's that Jenrick stands a good chance to taking over that is stopping MPs raising their voices calling for a leadership challenge.

Whilst I'm happy she takes the Conservatives into oblivion and obscurity and keeps the likes of Jenrick away from being able to make policy, trouble is that many of those voters probably deserting the party will be moving to Reform and that becomes "Devil and Deep Blue Sea".

Whilst not a fan of Badenoch, having vague, or, even none existent policies got Starmer in No 10, maybe she is playing the same game?

The actual proletariat, the amazon drivers having to piss in bottles in their vans and so on, aren't voting.

Not. exactly. an Amazon driver, but, yesterday, myself and a couple of pals had quite a lengthy chat to an Uber taxi Driver. He was of Pakistani heritage, born in Bradford and brought up in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

The taxi ride was about 16:00 after a very pleasant and rather boozy lunch with a couple of my pals. Our pickup was, he told us his first of the day.

In addition to our ride home, we got advice on how to outwit our wives, various recipes for Pakastani and Afghan meals, recommendations for a couple of "ethnic" restaurants. He was an absolute hoot, and, appeared totally happy with life, looking forward to a holiday to Tunisia, with his wife. He was almost totally happy with Uber, prompt payment etc etc, but, did think his cut of the fare should be little bigger.

From his approximately 1hour chat, I don't think he will be storming any barricades in the foreseeable future. 😂

Edit: I recognise that, obviously, one Uber Taxi driver is not a statistically significant sample. 🙂

But does he vote?

I can't remember if it was here or BR I said it, but unlike Starmer, she's going on the attack all the time, with absolutely nothing to attack with.

I get that the Tories are a shambles and left the place like a herd of wild boar have been in Sainsbury's, which isn't entirely her fault. In which case why so adversarial?

And it isn't helping that she's prone to self aggrandisement as a means to add heft to a paper thin argument.

I mean she's got a Desmond in estimation (Engineering) from Warwick or somesuch. She's probably very capable, but in a room of Oxford firsts and ex-Barristers, surely it's a stupid form of smugness?

She lacks wit too. That would go some way to covering up her smugness and lack of argument.

Is there anyone witty or likeable on the Tory front bench?

Then where is the new left wing party coming from to take advantage of this dissatisfaction or disillusion?
Where is Corbyn, Momentum and others (well OK, not Corbyn) when his country needs them?

Maybe they aren't around because we don't need them?

True, but she's not exactly up against Jimmy Carr is she?

Her main deficit is in substance.

Not necessarily 'wit' in the sense of side-splitting one-liners (mind you, not something Carr does either), but being able to think on her feet and being able to make gentle fun of Starmer (and would maybe make her a teensy weensy bit more likeable). Agree about substance though - most of the time she's firing blanks, apparently unable to understand why Starmer's still standing.
