It would be interesting to know how many Conservatives actually support his views.

Isn't the standard method for the Tories to announce that anyone who doesn't agree will be pushed out? It feels like a really good way to further reduce support. How many showed up today to listen to Jenrick anyway?

Not sure if this or the related thread is the right place.
Listening to World at One today, it seems the Conservatives are trying quite hard to out right Reform.
Jenrick seeking to sack immigration judges who he considers as activist, because they, in his view are pro immigration. And wanting to return to Judges essentially being Government appointed.

As are Labour! Both parties are consumed with Reform. Neither seem to have worked out that Reform voters want Farage and the actual Reform party. They don't like Labour or the Tories.

Jenrick is as delusional as Badenoch if not worse. He seems to think he can drag them further right and outmanoeuvre Reform.

I would think lawyers tend to apply to be judges in areas in which they have experience. It's no surprise most immigration judges have come through the immigration system, including as lawyers for those appealing refusals. You could argue this means they have valuable insight into the law or that they have a favourable bias towards appellants. If it's bias then the answer is probably better training, not making judges political appointments. Political appointments of DAs and judges is partly why the US justice system is such a mess.

I was in Hampstead a couple of weeks ago and I don't think there was a poor person in sight. Why don't Hampstead people integrate and move to places like North Islington, which is not that far away instead of hanging around with their own sort all the time.

I was in a village at the weekend where all the residents were white and Christian. They need more integration.

Whoever today’s victim for doing the Party spin is good. He didn’t laugh whilst saying people know they have a record of growth and balancing the books. I don’t think he was being ironic either.

Anyway, new golden rule - cut spending and give half the savings in tax cuts and the other half to bring down the government debt. We’re so lucky Kemi decided to take her time to think things over before making policy announcements

Since their plans so far still pay back debt slower than the interest payments, it reminds me Bart Simpson's remedial class, "We're going to catch up the other kids by going slower than them?"

It's a pity she hasn't thought about the many implications of what she's saying...

Saw her on TV last night and she really isn't a nice person, has no charisma and feels an interview is a platform for what she wants to say, not for her to answer the interviewer's questions (and most interviewers will be asking about iffues in the headlines and thus prominent across public sphere).

That said, hypothetically thinking, were I to be given the decision if she should stay of step down, at the moment it looks like Jenrick would be her replacement so right now it would be a choice between Badenoch and Jenrick and to me Jenrick is looking increasingly unpleasant and dangerous.

Agreed.

And I think I shall start talking about 'iffues' too. 😜
