Tbf to Badenoch, and that is not easy for me, is her exaggerating her academic qualifications any worse than Reeves exaggerating her working roles?

I suspect that if we dug deeply into the history/CV of many people in public lives a lot of exaggeration would be found.

Not in my case I must emphasise as I was always scrupulously honest in my CVs and never gilded the lily nor polished a turd about my experience when applying for jobs

I think that could more accurately read "I suspect that if we dug deeply into the history/CV, a lot of exaggeration would be found",

not referring to your good self (or myself) of course 😂

Me too, to the bolded bit, but, that was not what I commented upon, in your original post.

I think I answered that, tangentially, in my comment about John Major.

No, it isn't in that both are bad/wrong but sadly there doesn't seem much holding to account for those in power.

Badenoch has climbed to the very peak of the Dunning-Kruger mountain.

She won't last long, because she's neither intelligent nor charismatic. At least the other party leaders have at least one of these attributes.
I don't watch them closely (just mainstream news reports) but Jenrick seems the only one positioning himself to take over.

Again Ms Badenoch seems to have demonstrated her "lack of agility". Although I view PMQs as something of a "national embarrassment" maybe they do sometimes provide an indication on the capability of individuals to think on their feet.

By all accounts (I've seen) yesterday Ms Badenoch had an open goal with Ms Rayner's stamp duty issue yet she'd prepared her questions and apparently wasn't up to adapting beyond a few feeble digs. Most commentators seem to be saying the same in that she's really not adaptable, can't think on her feet, can't react to a situation.

I am surprised there isn't much talk about her being replaced.

Badenoch missed a sitter there. However it does like Honest Ange has already put the ball in the back of her own net.

I would guess that they are all biding their time as it's such a shitshow on the far right, and they are happy for her to take all the blame. Well, apart from Jenrick, who's trying to rehabilitate Enoch Powell (saying he was essentially correct but didn't quite get the messaging right), not least by making him seem relatively tame in his xenophobic ambition.

Weird thing is that Conservative MPs, when they see cracks often go for it however strategically daft it might be. Like when Sunak took over from Johnson/Truss. Always was going to end in defeat at next election, obvious from before the leadership election so those standing for leadership were all destined to fail and be standing down after the General election defeat. Didn't stop them going for it.

My sentiments exactly. I think she got the leadership, because, nobody with even half a brain wanted it.
