True but even at Truss' worst Government borrowing was lower than it is now. Ms Reeves might be wishing to be back in Truss times.
(Not that I'm defending Truss, nor wanting either in senior Government roles).

Been seeing Badenoch's offer to Starmer re: welfare reform, how she want's Starmer to negotiate a reform with her and Conservatives will vote it through. Highlights how inexperienced she is, daft. Starmer has a massive majority and doesn't need her/Conservative votes. If reforms are so unpopular his own Party turn against the changes if he pushes them through on Conservative votes he's finished (leadership challenge next day).
Daft "offer" from Badenoch and shows how she really isn't up to the job, doesn't have the ability, doesn't have the experience, isn't learning and MPs/party abandoning her for Reform likely to continue (and if they want to stay in politics it's the only place gor them as staying in Conservatives means out of work in a few years.
Don't think I could. Recognise one or two when they appear on TV as "a shadow minister" but can't put a name to face.I had to agree with someone who said that they couldn't name a single one of her shadow cabinet.

I don't think Starmer needs "some help", I think he needs a lot of help. But Badenoch's offer wasn't help, it was an offer for him to e the first PM to have the whip withdrawn - hence her showing she really doesn't know how politics works. To be fair, it does seem like Starmer needs some help and advice in this area, having singularly failed to make any savings to the welfare bill despite having a massive majority
Poor Kemi. One day - maybe in ten or twenty years' time - she might finally work out why, no matter how hard she tries to say the right thing and tries not to offend them - all those furious white supremacist thugs, bottling coppers, bellowing rage and pissing in the street - will never, ever vote for her.
Interesting polling on Party leadership approval rating (from More In Common discussed on The News Agents Podcast). their data rates Badenoch at -23 vs Starmer at -46 (with Davey and Farage in -5 region). Starmer rated a lot worse than Badenoch! (although apparently both Badenoch and Davey have a higher number of "Don't Know" answers. So maybe a good (or maybe less bad) indication for Badenoch?
