I sort of wonder if we should be running a sweepstake about how long she'll remain Party Leader.

She just sort of has nothing, no policies or rather only "policy" seems to be not to have any policies. Or maybe it's that Jenrick stands a good chance to taking over that is stopping MPs raising their voices calling for a leadership challenge.

Whilst I'm happy she takes the Conservatives into oblivion and obscurity and keeps the likes of Jenrick away from being able to make policy, trouble is that many of those voters probably deserting the party will be moving to Reform and that becomes "Devil and Deep Blue Sea".

The trouble is that they are still in trolling mode, as they were when they were in government: they define themselves by what they dislike rather than by things that they believe in. As much as people might have hated her, Thatcher believed in things, in opposition, and in power, and argued for them, right or wrong. Jenrick is no different from Badenoch, only loonier.

I think you should hope that they remain a viable political force for that reason, as currently the right of centre vote is split between Conservative and Reform. So careful what you wish for.

Jenrick probably realises that some form of alliance would be the most effective way of getting rid of Labour.
