Did he have any rights to use it? I'm always amazed when politicians do stuff that they know will look bad.

I dare say she also occasionally used a 1st class stamp that had been paid for by the hard-working taxpayer to send a birthday card to a friend.

I wouldn't do that, so I wouldn't expect a politician to either. I'll print at work, because it is convenient and there are better printers, but if I was an MP, I'd hesitate even doing that.

I don't really get the argument - stealing is fine as long as you don't go big?

I'm not saying it's fine, but given that MPs across all parties are doing stuff running into the £1000s or £millions, and the press are giving them a free pass, the focus on Rayner, as exemplified by a 1.7-mile journey taking up press space, is both pathetic, and illuminating on their biases.

I can't remember if you take Private Eye, but the stuff revealed in Rotten Boroughs is nearly always of a magnitude far far worse, and never makes the national papers. They've picked on Rayner for all sorts of reasons (as per FA), including the hope that it'll sell more papers/get clicks.

Isn't that whataboutism? Of course they should all be criticised - I just don't have much sympathy for someone who is rumbled. Much like the mobile phone thief getting uppity that other criminals are getting away with big crimes.

Also, in this particular case, she's a politician. She plays the game. She'd undoubtedly use it against her opponents.

It's more the point they aren't criticised though. Certain people seem to get grief whilst others get little for worse. As pointed out, the lack of any coherent attack on Farage for his recent issues compared to what Rayner got for what appears to have been carelessness at worse is blatant.

I've still got the set of Rotring drawing pens I was given when working for the local Council in 1989 so should probably return them in case I go into politics for Labour.

Are you saying Farage is not criticised? Or not criticised by his fan club?

It is also nonsense because there's still a landlord.

Also, what's with the over capitalisation of written language these days. I so not have to Capitalise Everything in order to make a Point.
