Democrats wanting Andy to appear about Epstein is hardly news. I am curious though, who leaked the letter, and why?

That will probably lead to Trump deciding juries are BAD and CROOKED so deciding to do away with them in future cases.

On the other hand, he appear to be the puppet master. The US justice system is fooked!

"Boeing will avoid a criminal charge in the US linked to two deadly 737 Max crashes, after a court granted a request from the US government to dismiss the criminal case.
In his ruling, Judge Reed O'Connor said he "disagreed" that dropping the charge was in the public interest but said his concerns did not give him sufficient reason to deny the proposal.
The decision marks a major win for Boeing, which had agreed to plead guilty to the charge last year after the government accused it of violating a settlement related to the crashes.
The dismissal had been opposed by some of the families of those killed in the accidents, who had sought to hold Boeing accountable at trial."

If he had thrown a brick it would be assault.
How about wacking him around the head with a stale baguette?
I guess the point I am making is there needs to be some sort of agreement over what constitutes assault.
A milkshake attack is an assault in UK.

Ah, but it does bring all the boys to the yard.

It would probably have helped the DoJ's case if:
1. They hadn't pushed a grand jury for a felony charge and not a misdemeanor.
2. The ICE agent's testimony was truthful. - Which you would have expected the DoJ to check beforehand.
The agent testified that the sandwich "exploded" so hard when it hit his chest, he could feel it through his ballistic vest and that you could smell the onions and mustard. Video evidence appears to show the sandwich was whole.

I think it's likely the first. Because they have this strange distinction between felony charges and misdemeanour they spiked their own case. It was clearly an assault but a minor one that probably should have resulted in a sound ticking off and a fine.

It also seems remarkable that the DoJ released a social media video bigging up the case prior to trial too - doesn't give the impression that actual even-handed justice is what they were seeking.

Weirdly, Republicans have decided that now is not the time to do any redistricting/gerrymandering in states where they've lost the majority.

Of course, it's totally nuts that partisan bodies are in charge of drawing up constituency boundaries in a FPTP system, but if California's & Virginia's threats to fight fire with fire can initially nullify Republican's naked gerrymanders elsewhere and more fruitfully highlight the absurdity of allowing such blatant election-rigging (you could have a state with 60% black/Democrat population but only white Republican representatives in Congress), then it's justifiable. Republicans have ruthlessly exploited the absurdities in the voting systems for decades (not least in Senate, where every state has two senators, irrespective of population) to guard against non-white proportionality of representation.

I don't know how these Committees work but maybe they are "open" in that they just publish full details of what they are doing? Seem appropriate when they are calling for the Epstein files to be properly released (hypocritical to demand documents from other agencies be released whilst keeping their own secret).

But I have no knowledge as to their mode of operation., just guessing.
