But after the same amount of mileage? Morgans live in dry garages, not on the roads like most cars. They only go out in the dry, not all year in all conditions.
Chalk and cheese comparison.

Smiles per mile are more important than miles per smile. 😉

It's one of the things I just can't wrap my head around - just why (for instance) would Andrew Wakefield go the the US to target certain ethnic groups for his lies, knowing they'll catch measles as a result?

It would appear it is not only a problem in the US https://www.england.nhs.uk/south-ea...ccination-and-race-religion-and-belief-A4.pdf

Reminds me of a fellow who had the factory next to ours. He built his business until finally he could afford a Porsche. A month later he was suffering severe buyer's remorse - the car was noisy, cramped, uncomfortable, and the instant, huge depreciation once he'd driven it off the forecourt meant he couldn't afford to trade it in.

My pal went through life driving "exciting" but expensive to own/run cars. After his Morgan, which he got rid of when children arrived on the scene, he drove a succession of "exciting" cars, but, fortunately, for his bank balance, funded by his employer.

Sadly, he was forced to leave work due to ill health, and, died before reaching 65. His last exciting but unreliable purchase was an Alpha (can't recall the model).

I must admit I have trouble in understanding a manager in the NHS saying, in effect, that they'd give Reform a chance, despite finding them "frightening". There are too many appropriate clichés to accompany my "WTF?" It would be a bit like saying that you'd (maybe reluctantly) ask Count Dracula to pop by as you just can't get rid of that annoying sore throat.

Surprisingly Kylie does appear to be a real person (always handy when people have unusual names). However, I'm not sure her knowledge of the NHS is that deep. She spent 8 years enforcing ASBOs and doing community safety before moving into commissioning. She spent 19 years working for Rochdale Borough Council before moving to the Rochdale CCG to do commissioning for planned care / cancer and from there moved to the NHS as Transformation Lead for planned care / cancer / EOL.

She's basically a project manager and has no actual medical knowledge at all.

That last quote from Eve. How about don't vote for them then? Fairly simple solution to your worry I would have thought?

Interesting news story that might rekindle* the "right to roam".discussion.

The right to roam is a great idea. Then Covid happened (could have been before?). I've no idea when or why a significant number of the population became selfish and lazy but here we are, ruining it for the rest. See also festival goers just leaving everything behind. Arsehöles.

Minor point of order; the major festivals collect and donate the tents etc to good causes. Yes, the aftermath has terrible optics looks terrible, but it's not a real problem.

Are you sure the problem started in 2020, because Troassach National Park had to put restrictions on it in 2017.

I think it started with the land reform act, and things are coming to a head.

I appreciate that there was a common law right before that, but my impression was that codifying it has meant that people and authorities now take the approach that everything that is not specifically prohibited is allowed.

I did add a question mark ?
Probably just my perception but things seem to have gotten worse since lockdown. Certainly have on my cycle routes.

Re festivals. Yes some good will come of it but I doubt the organisers welcome the hassle and added cost. Lazy. You brought it, you take it away.

Perhaps not relevant to Festivals (where the price of a ticket may dwarf the price of a cheap tent), but, perhaps relevant to those who litter the countryside with their discarded tents, and other camping equipment, is it only the toffs who can afford to do this?, particularly with so many people living in poverty.
