I really have no idea what happened there. The site jumped around a bit before posting. šŸ¤”
I wondered why my post had (seemingly) disappeared but was glad someone raised the same point.

Maybe it's heatstroke. Make sure you're drinking lots of fluids and not spilling any of them on your keyboard.

"Britain does not need higher taxes as an objective in itself; it needs a tax system that raises the revenue required for a civilised state..."

My take is that the whole post is true, but Britain as a whole vastly underestimates what the "revenue required" is.

Magyar continues the de-Orbanisation of Hungary, with the resignation of the old president, Sulyok, and sacking of all constitutional court judges over 70 (which included one appointed by Orban).

https://www.reuters.com/world/hungarys-president-signs-law-change-ending-his-term-office-2026-07-18/

After Sulyok signed the amendment, Magyar said Parliament Speaker Agnes Forsthoffer would assume the role of interim president from Monday. "With these decisions, we are restoring something that the Orban regime spent many years trying to take away from the Hungarian people," he said in a Facebook post.

"The certainty that power can be constrained, that public assets can be recovered, and that the state can once again serve its citizens, free Hungarian citizens."
The amendment also imposes a 12-year term limit on lawmakers and sets a retirement age of 70 for Constitutional Court judges, which will force the court's current president, Orban ally Peter Polt, to retire.

Since ousting Orban in April, Magyar has repeatedly called on Sulyok to step down, accusing him of failing to represent national unity on major issues and of serving the interests of Orban and his government.

I’m trying to get my head around someone wanting to be so macho yet looking so camp.

Maybe he's just not had enough testosterone boosters yet.

On a serious note, there's going to be at least a generation of US males who are going to end up with body dysmorphia and other psychological hang-ups because of all this 'male self image' focus on bulging muscles (which are redundant for pretty much everything except posing in front of mirrors and cameras) and clothes that are several sizes too small. It's bizarre.

Tbh, I’m more inclined to go down the overcompensating route.
