I got pretty good at estimating field sizes in acres in my farming days, though hectares is an easy conversion (divide the acreage by 2.5) and (obviously) more logical (a 100-metre-sided square). I've no idea how big a football pitch is. I think the Isle of Wight and Wales are the other two standard reference points.

Not really - I'm better at fields with hedges and cows and things. And I didn't want to get mud on my slippers.

I can help you visualise a football pitch. The are roughly 100mx50m so 100mx100m is 2 football pitches.

Slightly bigger apparently, I was working on the same measurements as you so 0.5 hectares but looked it up and it is more like 0.7 hectares apparently.

My general experience is that most people will find something to justify whatever car choices they make, even if the chosen activity is just a couple of times a year. "I can't possibly be expected to carry my piccolo on public transport!!"

I think my favourite sight was a lady who used to get her double bass in a Mini Metro. (I used to get my 6'11" harpsichord in my Chrysler Sunbeam.)

I got all my belongings. Including a bike, in one of those, when I went to uni. There was also room for my mother.
