Well it's not for you or me to say what's interesting, Brian.

You missed the point.
We used to be rule makers with the EU until some monumental farkup happened.
Tice banging on about this did make me laugh. We left from a strong position that included a veto and now we want to trade with them we have to accept their rules.
The fishing thing is odd too as the deal will apparently make it easier for our brave fisherfolk to sell their hard earned catches to a European market that dwarves the UK for most fish and shellfish.
Give me a time machine and I'll go back and fix all of that. Now back to the current government...
If only people had warned about this consequence beforehand, maybe then Farage, Johnson etc. would have realised the error of their ways.
No but we did also help make the rules. Quite a few of them IIRCA veto is not making the rules.
Yes, an utterly crap one organised by the Tories which cost us over £100bn.Also people seem to forget we do trade with the the EU and have a trade deal with them.

This. It's all rather depressing. Starmer's never had any charisma or ability to enthuse, and even though I think he's probably competent and honest (so an improvement on what he followed), no deep convictions or the ability to communicate them. I'm wary of charismatic snake oil salesmen (after all, that's a fair description of Farage), but we've got no-one like Thatcher or Blair with the confidence of their convictions, right or wrong.
I think I'm turning into P Blakeney...
