There would be better ways of phrasing it, unless you want to make a sexist point... "highest calling of men" is just weird, IMHO.

The racism of people like Matthew Goodwin isn't disguised now. I don't think it's coincidental that he's using language that the Right use about trans people... "if he views himself that way [even if I'm not going to]"
