I'm in the half of the population who experiences sprouts as a combination of bitter almond and cabbage. It simply isn't a case of cooking them differently, other than it becomes a combination of bitter almond, cabbage, butter and bacon.

I have the same absolute hatred for the taste of beetroot, celery or swede and all my family love them.

Strange things the taste buds.

Taste buds change with age. Comments?

I used to like red wine. Now it all* tastes overly of tannins to me. Ditto single malts**.

Definitely.
Except my taste buds are going in the opposite direction. I need stronger and stronger for the same taste hit.

Yes. I'm in the "they are the spawn of satan" side of the debate. I can't tolerate the taste of brassicas. Can't do mint either. Or coffee. Or beer.
Utterly horrible little bastards.
Mrs B lived in Southport when gaining her first degree. When visiting her, there were sections of the road between Ormskirk and Southport that were awful to drive on because of the vile smell from the fields of sprouts.
Mrs B and our eldest love them. My youngest, and as you may have guessed from my opening sentence, think they are vile.

You are drinking the wrong red wine (I know you hate emoji's but imagine the winking one, followed by the laughing one as I laugh at my own joke.)

Yes people who love whisky say that about whisky as well. It is odd that with the possible exception of sprouts people don't say that sort of thing about food.
