Haha, this makes me laugh...

Firstly, "Wow, what a swing!!"

Then the actual number of voters:

The low turnout is what makes me laugh about the fake anger at the delayed council elections.
The turnout is alway rubbish. No
One cares about local elections, yet suddenly they get delayed for a short while and people are up in arms.

My worry is will they ever happen? Norfolk meant to happen in 2025 but postponed until 2026. Now instead of 2026 postponed until 2027. Democracy? "You can always vote them out" (except when you can't)

Report on C4 News last night about a massive illegal waste site that over the last year has caused nearby school to shut, local residents children to move out, massive rat infestations in nearby houses. And sited on land owned by the King and it is the responsibility of the landowner (in this case the King) to pay for the cleanup and yet our King is refusing, trying to pass the costs onto taxpayers. nb Duchy of Lancashire pays no tax.

Highlights how we are no more than a source of their increasing wealth. Honour legal commitments, nah, costs to the public, profits to the Royal Family.

I thiunk link to the report but these days C4 dislike (and block) VPNs (for privacy) https://www.channel4.com/news/uks-w...s-on-site-belonging-to-private-estate-of-king

I'm only half a mile away, but thankfully somewhat higher, and with a better drainage system (the River Exe) nearer.

Might go that way this afternoon to gawp, but not to try to cross. That said, when the tide goes out (it is very tidal here), it might subside fairly rapidly.

I don't know that it has peaked yet. This evenings high tide might coincide with more of what is coming off the hills.
