Maybe it's all rooted in a 'transactional' mindset on the right whereby they think that there are no win-win policies, so they think that the only outcome from policies that promote being able to access necessities locally can only come at the expense of car drivers, and that no amount of added convenience for everyone (including people who drive cars) will ever compensate for the mythical unrestricted freedom to drive wherever and whenever they want.

Yeah, its almost as if some insecure people pick up on things they have little or no understanding of then repost and comment on them on the internet just to feel relevant or important.

Not an outright denial, just no recollection or record.
I have no record of financial transactions from 15 years ago either. But i certainly could recollect receiving over £50k from an acquaintance.
But he has a habit of accepting money from rich benefactors.
