Are you talking about Harry Potter or the Hunger Games.

Either way it irks me that people like this are now getting paid as artictects now we don't need as much artwork for sci fi paperbacks or comics.

Did Richard Rogers accelerate this trend, doing fancy-looking fantasies, then, once he'd won the contract, charging real architects and engineers to turn them into buildable structures?

Or am I being unfair? Shame RJSterry isn't on here to be offended (or to agree).

Isn't it bleeding obvious that if they put the same resources into saving this planet there wouldn't be any need to move to an inhospitable planet/moon?

Someone obviously thought that HS2 is going so well that a loop railway connecting major cities the British Isles with *two* tunnels under the Irish sea would be viable.

Rail expert Jon Worth says the bleedin' obvious in response.

It's just an Architectural Firm's 2025 "look at us - we have amazing ideas" pamphlet.

It's an idea from WW+P who are working in Saudi on the Neom rail line. The bridges / tunnels across the Irish sea are just one of the many, many, many reasons this would never happen. Their "concept" involves an almost 90 mile long tunnel / bridge between Bangor and Dublin, and one a similar length from Belfast to Glasgow cutting across the Isle of Arran and Holy Island.

Nothing says unspoilt area of natual beauty like a farking great raised railway (raised for no apparent reason here)

"Fark me, who put this monstrosity there?"

Look Gina - this used to be a castle 1000 years old and unspoiled countryside, then some Moron went and built a high speed rail line 20 metres away

It doesn't exactly inspire confidence in their judgement or seriousness.

But, but, but....That first one already has an existing raised elevation railway line.
It's even been used in many movies.

It may not impress as an Engineering project, but, as an advert perhaps it is not without merit, got noticed, got you talking about it…. Not a bad start?
