You can get a keyring one which also has a comb. This then covers two of the five things a Sikh man needs. Less effective for murdering someone on your doorstep though.
I had read that the murder weapon did not fall within the religious exemption. On which basis it was man with a knife who just happened to to be Sikh, rather than an problem with kirpans.

But politicians talking about "religious exemptions" to permit the kirpan. If a keyring (regulation compliant) one meets the religious requirement then why do we need these exemptions being talked about.

I suspect a keyring one doesn't work for everyone
Surely it comes down to religious requirement. If a keyring one meets the requirement then some saying "I want a bigger one" is just "UK has laws, obeying those laws not a matter of choosing which you like".

Similarly if a kirpan with no edge or no point complies with UK knife laws and religious requirement then no exemption required.

Ian Dunt asked the Reform person on LBC panel programme last how many kirpans had been used in murders, as Reform is calling for a ban. Answer came there none, so I suspect none have been used in murders up till now, so there would be a question of proportionality.

This is exactly what Farage wants. One or two police folk getting attacked or killed would give him another excuse to encourage people to rage & riot. It wouldn't matter if it was a white knucklehead who did it, it'd be too late by then. Job done.

I cannot fathom why the UK government and MPs are still on X. This is what Musk bought it for.

For me the question of exemptions from UK laws everybody else has to obey according to religion is a separate issue from the murder being discussed.

If we are exempting one religion from UK knife laws should we not also be allowing "Special Lassi" (bhang) to be consumed by Hindus or special exemption from drug laws for Rastafarians, etc.

At what point do you declare UK law as "same for everybody"?
