Bad behaviour towards numerous women, apparently. Not sure how it ranks re the kind of allegations about Russell Brand, Greg Wallace, Shia Leboeuf, and others. Bit different in that his reputation rests mostly on being a popular children's author these days so there really is no coming back from it if the allegations are sordid, which they probably are or the press wouldn't be so interested in them.

The fact that it's the Guardian and ITN (not The Sun or an online news site etc) suggests there has been a decent degree of due diligence on the part of the investigative journalists.

Not to mention his "Hide the Sausage" bit on the Little Britain Tour... Which, weirdly isn't even the worst thing about that show.

Which makes me wonder if the individual has made the situation a lot worse for themselves. Everybody (most people) know who it is yet the details of the allegations are not widely known. And without detail some might be assuming offences similar to those Brand, et al. are accused of, but the Police do not appear to be investigating but bad enough for ITN & Guardian to investigate and go through courts so maybe people are assuming it's worse than it is or maybe not.

Maybe the severe impact on the individual relates to their more recent career and how such allegations might impact that.

When there is an information void, sometimes people can assume the worse scenarios.

Yes, unfortunate timing to coincide with the Brand trial might lead people to think it's more that type of allegation than the Gregg Wallace type. He likely has made things worse. Streisand effect and all that.

Still don't care as it just seems like malicious gossip to me. At this stage.
For me the interesting aspect is the aspect of using injunctions to censor the press, particularly when there are (apparently) no ongoing Police investigations.

It gets all mixed up with injunctions and super injunctions used to protect an individual's reputation in the face of allegations.

Although we really have Harper Collins to thank for that. He's a terrible author but with a great publicist. All that fiddle about him being the next Roald Dahl on the basis of absolutely no evidence.

Trust me, I had to read the bl$$dy things to my kids as bedtime stories. The first 8 books were reasonably good - up to the Midnight Gang. After that he started doing one book per year, one book of short stories per year and one illustrated children's picture book per year. They were all crap. I think we got as far as "Slime" with me skipping the huge number of pages that were just adjectives, lists or noises to fill up paper.

My daughter asked me to stop reading them as they were rubbish. I just said that I wished she had told me earlier.

Completely agree (and I had to do the same). I think when you're churning out that amount it's always going to be garbage.

There's been some suggestion some of them were ghost written. Many celebrity fiction books are. Katie Price for example has some talents no doubt but I don't think novel writing would be one of them. Ditto a dozen other celebrity novelists.
I think Walliams' never ending output is just an example of how publishing will milk any cash cow it can get its hands on.

I did read that he always replied personally to a letter if a child wrote to him about his books rather than a generic thank you letter. At some point the allegations will end up in the public domain, injunction or not, so he'd be better to just let them get on with it and rip the plaster off all at once. I don't see the benefit to his mental health in dragging it out for months.
