To be fair, the unions represent their workers. The fact that we as a country are now finding massive pay rises unaffordable is not a union problem.
It is the same for the BMA.

Massive pay rises? I don't think a less than inflation pay rise can be considered massive, especially in the context of a decade of effective pay cuts for a lot of workers, and massive rises for the wealthiest in society.

Exactly.

The welfare state and social democracy didn't happen because of the goodwill of capitalism but rather because capitalism before, during and to a degree after WW2 was shoot scared of revolution.

Massive rises for the wealthiest are the reminder that the folk memory of the fear of revolution has been lost...

Revolution requires extreme violence. A dumbed down lazy population with no balls isn’t a threat. The masses will just drink their booze, smoke their cigs & watch trash TV with football while soaking in the establishments propaganda MSM machine.

It has existed for decades. Do you have a NI number, a driving licence, a passport, a NHS patient number, an entry on the electoral roll, a Google account, or a criminal record?

What has changed is the linking of databases and the potential for erroneous data in one to impinge on your whole life.
