You tell me, I doubt the 'ethnic majority' in Leicester for example, are White.

Daughter No 2 lived in Leicester for a number of years.

My point really was, the more we divide populations up by various groups (eg ethnicity, colour, gender, sexual orientation), then, the less likely it is that there will be a significant "majority group". Personally, if we are seeking diversity and harmony, such "dividing" techniques do not seem helpful?

F**k me! English then, pedantic twat.
"English" is, I think, even worse, because it would, I think, seem to suggest that you don't think people of darker coloured skin can be English.

You may think we're all just finding pointless and unimportant linguistic pedantries to pick you up on. But these things matter because the language we instinctively use is often a pretty good clue to how we're thinking. That is, after all, pretty much the definition of a "Freudian Slip"?

(I keep saying "I think" because I'm not completely confident I have followed this rather convoluted discussion fully...)

Why is this important or significant to you ??

A while back you were bellyaching about what you see as too much representation in ads.

Now your saying something else slightly unclear about diversity in Leicester.

F**k me! English then, pedantic twat.

What is actually your objection..

Representation ?

Or the reality of diversity in Britain.??

This thread is about whether portraying the son of superman as bisexual is blatant commercialism, or is in fact good for the cause of inclusion..

Not so sure how we ended up in Leicester, but there we go.

Some Leicester people might be Scottish, Welsh or Irish white and not really immigrants anyway.

Facts are very important when deciding who to be intolerant towards.

I'm guessing it's still not really allowed to be intolerant of the intolerant..??

I do struggle a bit with that one tbh, but I'll keep up the good fight, until I'm told I can stand down..

I don't think Poles count as dark skinned either.

.........

Should that be:

whether portraying the son of superman as bisexual is:
- blatant commercialism
or
- good for the cause of inclusion
or
- both of above
or
- neither of above

?

Yes I did think all that after posting it..

Then I realised I'm not actually being marked on any of this..

I can just churn out random, unedited shoot, without a hundred qualifications and clarifications, just like everyone else does.. :okay:

Plus it's been a hard day at work, machinery frustrations , lots of heavy lifting etc etc.

Well exactly, and they may not want to be just "lumped in" to one group as White, they may want their own separate group.

Not sure where anyone mentioned immigrants?
