Depend on what pollutes more, but a paper straw with an plastic wrapper is stupid no matter how you try to spin it.Would a plastic straw in a plastic wrapper be more or less problematic.
What about cellophane?

Why?
Even if the wrapper is PVC the straw is paper and biodegradable.
If you own any item made of plastic, then you are a hypocrite if you call yourself Green, or campaign against Big Oil. Stands to reason, dunnnit.

I knit my own bikes using organic grasses cultivated from a shared windowsill box. It's my turn for the communal needles next month so I should be able to finish it in about 40 years or so. I'll probably be dead by then.
I trust the needles have been lovingly carved from stone, or, sustainably grown wood ? 😂
I use baby elephant tusks.

can and is are two different things, not saying they aren't it just look a lot like greenwashing. (changing one detail to something than claim it will help to reduce emissions, plant trees, etc.) if they really cared might be just as easy to put an paper cover around it. Even Mcdonalds gets that.Cellophane is compostable and biodegradable, and can be obtained from biomaterials.[/1] [Wiki]
Exactly and the whole idea with using less plastics is that they thend to break down very slow when tossed somewhere and landing into nature. Why?

I do hope they are "approved" ivory, and, not poached from an endangered herd 😂
