Yep. Greens seem to be the only party publicly announcing a clear alternative to the status quo that isn't made up.

The first one is worth looking at. Not so sure about the other two.

I just don't think announcing this sort of stuff now is good politics, whether or not you agree with all or part of it. Idealism (even if misplaced) is not necessarily inherently out-of-bounds for political parties, but this suggests a lack of seriousness to be doing this stuff now, of all times.

I'd agree, but TBF he first stated that view way back (probably before his current job).

And from the latest interview, his actual words:

He added: “We should be reviewing US bases on UK soil, and actually looking at a genuine strategic defence review.”

I'm not sure that this is politically a great time to be indulging in student politics for the Greens.

Fairly sure that has always been policy for the Greens.

He could state that they will review the situation in respect of US bases in the UK, and he would force their closure should Dementia Donnie proceed with his annexation of Greenland.
the US needs its European bases and that's a stick to hit back at Donnie with if he continues to try to annexe Greenland

Probably, as I realise idealism is part of their prospectus, but my point being now's not a great time for idealism, so probably better to keep quiet about it and hope the current shitstorm passes.

Yep, that's the kind of thing I was thinking. Showing flexibility of thinking in times of rapid change is mature politics.

That's fair, and u-turning on policies does seem to be de rigueur.

He's not announcing anything. He's saying "consider" ie raising a threat, a bit of potential push back without actually doing anything. He's saying to Trũmp that we have options and recognise those might be needed with the ongoing insanity.
